                         (Flag FB/Basketball/Wrestling/Softball)

Chicago native, that is home-grown.  Originally from the Southside of Chicago-Englewood community.  Attended performing arts school, at Curie Metropolitan HS where I majored in Fashion Design.  A two sport (Football, Basketball), 4 year letter winner.  In 1997, I earned an athletic scholarship to Northern Illinois University to play football.  While at Northern, I earned my degree in Kinesiology and Physical Education.  In 2002 my dreams came true and I had the opportunity and privilege to be signed by then head coach, John Fox of the Carolina Panthers.  During my time in the NFL, I also had a chance to play in NFL Europe, in Berlin, Barcelona, and Amsterdam.
My passion after playing professional football led me to work with inner-city youths.  I had the opportunity and pleasure to be signed as a Physical Education and Health Teacher at Chicago Math and Science Academy.  In my tenure at CMSA as Athletic Director I built a sports program that was nonexistent to a premiere championship program in Chicago Public Schools Sports Programs.                         Chicago Math & Science Academy has notched 2 Divisional HS Girls Volleyball Championships, 1 HS Girls Basketball Tournament Championship (CONCEPT SCHOOLS, CLEVELAND ST.), 1 Divisional HS Boys Soccer Championship (CPS Quarterfinal), 1st ever HS Boys Wrestling IHSA State appearance, 3 HS Boys Wrestlers in the Top 25 (CPS Wrestling), MS 5/6th Grade Boys Area 2 Champions, MS 7/8th Grade Flag Football Area 2 Champions,
Selfless service, and Community service has always been a necessity in my life.  It has never been what my country can do for me, but rather what can I do for my country.  I’ve participated in several service projects at CMSA in lieu of natural disasters to help organize, and donate i.e. monetary, and supplies to help support efforts.  In 2010, I helped launch a Humanitarian trip to aid the natural disasters in Haiti, and Republic of Dominicana.  While there we built kitchens, sports fields, as well as donate 3-4 months supplies of food, and first aid supplies.
Coach Tate joined the United States Army (INFANTRY) to serve our country, and help fight the War on Terrorism.  He is a  true testimony of “Living The Dream.”
